Queen of the Court - Alice Marble

Queen of the Court - Alice Marble

We are excited to introduce you to our latest Queen of the Court. This month we are featuring the divine Alice Marble in honor of Women's History Month. She was an 18-time grand slam champion with a world No. 1 ranking in 1939. An icon of the 1930s, Marble lived a life full of sports, celebrities and incredible mystery. Many credit her with creating the woman's game. She was known for her aggressive style of tennis, her serve, and volley combined with an unreturnable serve. Not only was she famous for her tennis achievements, she was renowned for her oratory, her singing voice, style, appearance, close relationship with Hollywood and Wall Street elite, and her optimistic winning personality.

There is absolutely no doubt that Marble led a truly incredible life. At Club & Court, we are honored to celebrate and share the stories of the inspirational women who have come before us, whose legacies live on. We are very excited to read more about the sensational Alice Marble in the memoir coming out later this summer—Queen of the Court: The Many Lives of Tennis Legend Alice Marble.

Check out the styles we think Alice Marble would be sporting on the court today!
